Sue Linthicum has been photographing the surrounding countryside for many years. Her love of the country is very apparent in all of her art: photography, watercolor, oil, acrylics, and mixed media. She is an award winning photographer and her art has been accepted into juried shows.
After retiring from her position as a human resources director position in Washington, D.C., she moved to Culpeper, Virginia to enjoy and capture nature more fully in her art. Sue is a member of the Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle, Central Virginia Watercolor Guild and the Virginia Watercolor Society. Her work has been published in the Washington Post newspaper in Washington, D.C., and the Virginian Piedmont Magazine, as well as the cover for a book of poetry. Her art has been exhibited in galleries in Virginia: Orange, Culpeper, Fairfax, Charlottesville, Madison, Gordonsville, Sperryville, Harrisonburg, Clarke County, Bathe County, Stanardsville, Montpelier, the Woodberry School in Orange, Virginia, State Theatre of Culpeper, and the Firnew Farm Artists’ Circle shows. Sue has also recently judge art work at the Orange County Fair.
Oftentimes my art takes the viewer to another time and place, evoking peaceful and quiet thoughts: a porch swing, a cupboard of old quilts, barns and farm objects in fields, and roadside flowers. I believe that art awakens our emotions and renders us still to be receptive to the spirituality it imparts.
Photographs will be matted and unframed at $90 for 11 x 14 and $150 for 11 x 17. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
